Not Very Intuitive or Slick, But Workable

I have to say that this is not the most intuitive application on my Mac (2008 iMac with 4GB RAM running 10.8.2), it's just not "there" yet, but I was able to make it work nicely using QuickTime Pro (which I've had for years) which allows one to output a video into individual frames which can then easily be imported into this. From there, the editing and timing process is fairly easy to work with and export as a GIF which I've had no problems uploading to various sites. I use it mostly for making animated GIFFs on Tumblr and Cinemagram. Considering the limitations, it was worth the price to me, but I would have paid more for something really great and totally understand other reviewers' frustrations.

Great GIF maker app

I've tried a bunch of junk GIF apps. This one is the BOMB by comparison. For making GIF banners for websites, I can't picture anything easier to work with than this. The UI looks dated — but it gets the job done. What I really love is that you can change the delay rate for individual slides. Recommended.

Does what it does relatively well

I haven't had any problems with the stability of this app, it's been working well for me. It does what it does well, with a minimum of fuss. If you have a stack of images you want to be a GIF, drag and drop them and boom, GIF.

People are negatively reviewing this app because they want to get animated GIFs from their movie files. This app doesn't do that, this app yakes a stack of images and makes them into a gif for you. Because it doesn't do much the interface is simple and it was a no brainer to learn. I use Fireworks and Photoshop and I know how to create animated GIFs in those progams but it would have been a pain, this was very simple. I had a bunch of image sequences saved in various folders, I drag and dropped them and I was set.

In the future I will use GIFBrewery to save aniumated GIFs directly from mty movie files, which will be much easier. But that program would not have helped me with the image seuences I already had. GIFQuickMaker made it easy and for me was money well spent.
