Excellent app, for free!
Purger King is a real steal, being free, and it WORKS! This app didn't say so, but it actually freed up at LEAST half of my RAM! This was much better than another 99 cent app that I had to pay for!
However, I could give two suggestions to the developer:
- Display the amount of RAM that the user has free before and after the "purging"
- Have the app be easily accessible from the menu bar
But still, I would like to give my thanks to Tida Inc.!
Scary
Holy cow, I just ran this for the first time. All it did was display the message (displayed in app info) and after a short bit, rebooted my system. No warnings, no control. What was it going to do? No Idea. What did it do? No Idea. It could have done good, but it just took over, closed all my apps and rebooted.
Great Stuff!
I have 8gb RAM and running VMWare VFusion 4. After suspending a VM, it shows a ton of RAM still locked in memory (3-4gb). Usually a reboot of the machine will take care of this. Ran Purger King and within 15 seconds I am back up to 6gb RAM free!
